Thomas Schmitz My name is Thomas (T.J.) Schmitz, and I'm the IT Manager for Geneva Pipe, father of four, part time web designer, and occasional blogger.

TJSchmitz.com mainly exists to house my personal email, but like most things on the web it has evolved into a bit more. It now houses a web-based version of my Family History - are we related? If you are, and want access the the entire collection let me know and I will get you set up.

If you're interested in hiring me, you can check out my resume. I'm great at getting heterogeneous systems talking to each other - I'm experienced with Microsoft, Netware, Macintosh and Linux systems. Having worked for a school and a managed-services startup, I've learned to get world class results on a shoestring budget and have learned to get it done without relying on expensive consultants.

My interest in web development started with my work in Internet start-up American Cybercasting in 1995. I developed interactive lessons and activities for their online curriculum, Educational Structures. I still enjoy putting together a website, and have been working with WordPress since it came out. I love how easily blogs let people put their information up on the web. My main blog is like my little notebook of tips and tricks I come up with. If I have something I want to remember to do in the future, I'll put it up. If someone asks for help on a topic, I'll post the information there as well - so I can help as many people as possible.
